We are well versed in guiding debtors, creditors, debt investors and insolvency practitioners through restructurings, workouts and insolvency matters and can cover the full spectrum of distressed services, from advising on corporate and financial restructuring transactions to insolvencies and special situations.

Our focus is always on providing strategic advice to clients on restructuring businesses with a view to reviewing and navigating through their options and delivering outcomes that achieve the highest possible returns.

Our practice has been recognised and ranked since 2023 in the relevant category of The Legal 500 international rankings for Cyprus (‘Banking and Finance’).

Notable work experience includes:

• advising the controlling shareholders of an Indian listed conglomerate on the Cypriot law aspects of their multi-billion US$ listed corporate bonds, including certain high-profile consent solicitation exercises and the financial restructuring and refinancing of such liabilities in 2025
• advising a committee of senior creditors on the Cypriot law aspects in relation to the (first and second) debt for equity restructurings of a Spain-headquartered shipping group (initial debt was for c. €1bn)
• providing enforcement and insolvency advice to a group of international lenders in relation to a share security enforcement over a Cypriot holding company
• advising an international professional investment firm on their potential acquisition of certain domestic non-performing loan and real estate owned portfolios owned by local banks
